Situated near the walls, it is a very small cafe that might seat about 12-15 people, looks like it has a nice selection of home made cakes, the sign in the window says "best coffee and cake in York" ...Dear old Betty might wish to discuss as they have very similar PRICEPOINTS

I can only disagree with the spitefulness of some comments. But perhaps this is just envy from locals who lack the courage and the money to open their own café. Maybe these people are simply better off in a pub with mediocre, lukewarm beer on sticky tables. The tea, coffee, and cakes are very good, and a recommendation is the almond blueberry cake. The place has great potential and has a unique charm.

Amazing little coffee shop. Whilst I didnt have food, the cakes looked amazing and most had already sold out by 1300hrs still plenty to choose from. Very friendly staff and skilled. The stylish period cafe fits into the city walls. Well worth a stop.

Only saw this little shop by chance so decided to pop in, we each had a coffee and a slice of their homemade cake and it didn’t disappoint. Warm friendly atmosphere so will definitely be coming back.
